Project: Breamere Pond Restoration

Client Name: Hampshire Wildlife Trust

Project Manager: Jo Gore

Breamore-Pond-RestorationBraemore Pond is a SSSI which is noted for the presence of the protected species Great Crested Newts and several vasculated plants including Brown galingale. Invasive species Ludwigia/ Creeping Water Primrose.

The control of this invasive species has been an historical issue and this methodology is seen as the next step in controlling the spread of the plant throughout Braemore Marsh and the wider Avon catchment.

Our specialist understanding of this designated environment coupled with a high level of bio-security was paramamount to facilitating the methodology to control and ultimately secure the eradication or Ludwigia from the pond.

The spoil material was transported to a donor pit which was then capped to ensure any transport of propagules was controlled.
